Job summary

Wabtec Napier Turbochargers in the Lincoln area seeks a flexible CNC Machining candidate. The role covers turning, milling and grinding with opportunities to develop CNC skills across multiple production areas. NVQ progression is supported, with NVQ Level 2 required and Level 3 pursued on program.

A minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience is expected. The successful candidate will work in a team, read engineering drawings, use calibrated measuring equipment and maintain a strong focus on

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established local business that designs, manufactures and tests industrial turbochargers supplied into the power generation, marine and rail traction industries.

The vacancy will require a flexible approach covering CNC Machining skills or development of skills across the following Production areas:

• Turning
• Milling
• Grinding

Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 2 in an engineering discipline
• It is a requirement that the successful candidate will attain NVQ Level 3. Modules to be provided by Napier

Experience:

• At least 3 years relevant industry experience

Skills:

• Be self-motivated and have good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Understand the need to work as part of a team and be committed to the targets and measures of that team
• Show good timekeeping and be flexible in working shift patterns
• Demonstrate the ability to read engineering drawings and use a variety of calibrated measuring equipment
• Have a good awareness of the importance of a safe working environment and duties to oneself and others within the company's EHS policy
