Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Trainee Laser Operator & Packer to join a busy engineering team on a temporary, full-time basis. You will support the Laser Operator on the shop floor, finishing, inspecting and packing parts directly from the laser machine.

This hands-on role requires careful use of hand tools, attention to detail and teamwork. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 08:00 to 16:30, and Friday 08:00 to 15:30, with a 30-minute lunch break.

Qualifications

• Experience in production/manufacturing or metalwork.
• Confidence using hand tools and working to fine tolerances.
• Good attention to detail and pride in quality.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently once trained.
• Positive attitude and strong team ethic.
• Open to overtime to support.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting, finishing and polishing products using hand tools
• Supporting the Laser Operator with day‑to‑day production tasks
• Completing job cards and day sheets accurately
• Reading and understanding engineering drawings
• Carrying out visual and tolerance checks
• Boxing and packing products to required standards
• Keeping your work area clean, tidy and safe
• Learning laser machine operation for holiday/absence cover
