Trainee Insurance Placement Broker / Relationship Manager – Leeds City Centre

We are currently working with a quality wholesale insurance business, who have opened up numerous brand new roles due to growth and a recent restructure. This is the ideal opportunity for career minded applicants keen to join a dynamic business in an exciting role.

Applicants must have previous insurance experience, commercial or personal lines and we are happy to hear from brokers, underwriters or those of you working in an insurance call centre wanting to find a role within a more traditional environment. Full training, mainly on the job, will be provided.

This job opening has two primary areas of focus. Firstly, you will be managing a portfolio of member brokers, developing quality relationships, assisting them in building their client portfolios by facilitating the placement of commercial insurance risks.

Secondly, you will be the focal point in respect to the placement of risks into specialist insurer markets including Lloyds of London; these will mainly be a wide variety of SME clients, with annual premium spends of up to £10k (there will also be an opportunity to work on larger cases once your technical and market knowledge is at the required level).

This role requires applicants to be strong communicators who enjoy developing client relationships and who enjoy negotiating. You will need to be a great team player with a positive outlook and keen to develop your technical insurance knowledge (CII qualifications will be fully supported).

The role will be initially office based in Leeds City Centre, although once up to speed and training is complete, there is some flexibility in terms of being part office / part home based.
