Job summary

HR Dept is seeking a Trainee HR Advisor to join our team in Swindon, North Wilshire and East Cotswold. You will support the wider HR Dept team and independently assist clients with HR documentation, contracts, and policy upkeep, while escalating complex issues to the appropriate colleagues.

You will review and update employment-related documents, provide general admin support, and handle timesheets and dashboards where applicable, contributing to a high-quality HR service.

Qualifications

  • Graduate calibre required.
  • Ability to undertake CIPD Level 5 qualification.

Join our agile team at the HR Dept Swindon, North Wilshire and East Cotswold, where we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional HR consulting services. We provide high-quality, commercial HR advice and support to a diverse range of clients, helping them navigate complex HR issues with ease. We offer a full HR service offering with a main focus on employee relations issues (disciplines, grievances, redundancies and TUPE), performance management, recruitment, training, and development.

Purpose of the role:

The Trainee HR Advisor will provide support to the wider HR Dept team as well as independently provide a range of HR support to our clients. They are also responsible for the review, creation, and updating of employment related documentation, providing general administrative support and referring more complex cases to a relevant team member.

Main responsibilities:
  • Answering telephone calls and emails from clients and to deal with queries in line with knowledge and experience
  • Creating and issuing documents that supports the specialist advice provided to clients
  • Administrative support to clients
  • Producing and updating employment contracts
  • Creating and updating client policies, procedures, and handbooks to ensure compliance with employment law and good HR practice.
  • Manage and support clients with their HR systems.
  • Undertaking document reviews for clients and prospective clients
  • Escalating HR issues to the appropriate team member as required.
  • Supporting formal meetings on behalf of clients as note taker.
  • Preparing client payrolls.
  • Recording all work undertaken on timesheets, and utilising Dashboards (where applicable).
  • Compliance with Company governance procedures.
  • Providing additional day support to clients.
  • Other duties as per client and HR Dept requirements
Business and Commercial support
  • Liaising with clients to further enhance strong business relations
  • Identifying and selling HR Dept services and solutions, where appropriate
  • Filing HR and business documentation
  • General office support as required
Person specification:
Qualifications:
  • Graduate calibre
  • Able to undertake a CIPD level 5 qualification
Skills:
  • Strong administration skills
  • Microsoft office (word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant Employment law to HR issues
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
