Job summary

HR Dept Swindon is seeking a People Advisor- Employee Relations to deliver practical, commercial HR guidance to clients. You will handle ER casework, provide advice by phone and email, and contribute to policy and process improvements.

Hybrid role, 40 hours a week, £35k-£40k DOE, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and on-site parking. You will join a team focused on delivering high-quality HR services and developing client relationships.

Qualifications

  • CIPD qualified/working towards, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent and up to date UK employment law knowledge including ERB changes
  • Able to manage a range of ER casework
  • HR experience over various business sectors is desirable.
  • Commercially aware of the needs of small businesses
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to organise own workload to meet targets and deadlines
  • Good MS Office skills, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for the HR Advice Line service, ensuring accurate, timely and commercial HR advice and support for clients.
  • Providing advice to clients on all aspects of HR, particularly employee relations matters, over the telephone and via email.
  • Advising and managing on behalf of clients’ disciplinary issues, employee grievances, performance management, redundancies, and TUPE
  • Creating and issuing documents that supports the specialist advice provided to clients.
  • Attending and chairing formal HR related meetings on behalf of clients.
  • Note taking at formal and informal meetings.
  • Delivering project work including staff surveys, salary benchmarking and managing client appraisals
  • Supporting and delivering training to clients, helping to develop and prepare training materials.
  • Creating and updating client policies, procedures, and handbooks to ensure compliance with employment law and good HR practice.
  • Identifying new business opportunities with existing clients (such as recruitment, additional project or site work, pulse and staff surveys).

Purpose of the role

The People Advisor is the first point of contact for HR Dept clients. You will beresponsible for providing high quality and commercial HR advice and support to clients and navigating through HR processes to provide solutions to people problems. You willalso be responsible for undertaking client project work as required.

Location and Working Hours

Location: Our office is based in Swindon- Hybrid working options are available post successful completion of probation.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
