Job summary

Citizens Advice is seeking an experienced Gateway Assessor to fast‑track through the Generalist Adviser training programme within six months. You will work on a range of projects, providing direct advice to the public and handling casework on social welfare law issues in a diverse inner‑city setting.

Upon successful completion of training, you will be appointed as a Generalist Advice Caseworker with a starting salary of £35,689 per annum.

Qualifications

• Must be a trained Gateway Assessor.
• Understand the advice needs and issues of the local community in a diverse inner-city area.
• Understand, empathise with and be committed to the Service’s aims, principles and equal opportunities policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct advice to the public and undertake casework on social welfare law issues.
• Work on a range of different projects and services providing direct advice to the public and undertaking casework on social welfare law issues.
• Fast tracked through the full Gateway Assessor training programme within 6 months leading to a Generalist Advice Caseworker role.

Once assessed as having satisfactorily completed the initial six months training you will be issued with a new job description as a Generalist Advice Caseworker on a starting salary of £35,689 per annum.
