Job summary

Finlay Jude Associates in Bournemouth is recruiting for multiple Trainee Field Technicians. No water industry experience is required as full training is provided. The role supports leak detection and aims to reduce water loss while protecting resources.

You will record acoustic data, travel across your area, and work outdoors with a company vehicle and fuel card. Monday-Friday pattern, long-term career opportunities in the water industry, and ongoing training are offered.

We are recruiting for a number of Trainee Field Technicians across the Bournemouth area. No previous water industry experience is required as full training will be provided.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from driving, warehouse, labouring, meter reading, construction, utilities or other hands‑on roles who are looking for a career change.

The Role

As a Trainee Field Technician, you will support leak detection activities across the water network using specialist equipment and technology. You will play an important role in helping to identify leaks, reduce water loss and protect vital water resources.

Duties will include:

• Using specialist equipment to record acoustic sound data across water networks
• Working independently across urban and suburban areas
• Maintaining accurate records using handheld technology
• Liaising with supervisors and colleagues
• Working towards agreed performance targets
• Travelling within your designated area
• Working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

What We're Looking For

• Full UK manual driving licence
