Job summary

Finlay Jude Associates Ltd is recruiting a Trainee Field Technician to support leak detection on underground water networks. You will be trained to locate leaks and assist repair teams, gaining hands-on experience while working nights and covering your local area.

Full training will be provided over 6–12 months, with a company van and fuel card, plus clear career progression. A full clean driving licence is essential to start in this role.

Qualifications

• Full clean driving licence is required.
• Willingness to train and learn on site.
• Outdoor/manual work background is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in detailed surveys to identify the type and location of water leakage.
• Assist repair teams by providing leak detection services.
• Support survey and project work beyond day-to-day leak detection.
• Complete paperwork accurately (timesheets, survey forms, leak details).
• Upload data onto a laptop using basic computer skills.

My client is recruiting for Trainee Field Technicians who will be covering your local area.

The successful candidate will be trained to find water leaks on the underground water networks.

This role is working Nights - 40 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)

This is a temporary to permanent role for the right candidate.

Trainee Field Technician responsibilities:

• To assist in detailed surveys to identify the type and location of water leakage
• Assist repair gangs by providing leak detection services
• Assist in survey work/project work not normally associated with day-to-day leak detection
• To assist in adequate and accurate completion of all paperwork (including time sheets, survey forms, leak details and other duties as required
• Possess basic computer skills as you will be uploading data onto a laptop
• It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence as you are required to drive for the role

Full training will be given on the following:

• EUSR Water Hygiene Training

This Trainee Field Technician role would suit candidates with the following:

• Drivers / Driving (Multi Drop, Meter Readers, Delivery Drivers)
• People with a manual working/outdoor background
