Job summary

Princes Limited is hiring a Trainee/Apprentice Engineer in Princes Risborough to support maintenance, repair and reliability of production machinery and site facilities. The role suits someone studying an electrical course or recent college leavers seeking an entry-level electrical position.

You will work with a lead engineer, assist with planned maintenance, diagnose faults and undertake remedial work. Training sessions and workshops are part of the development plan to build practical skills.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained engineer background or equivalent, with interest in electrical maintenance.
• Able to read electrical and mechanical drawings and interpret fault histories.
• Experience with planned preventive maintenance and routine servicing.
• Willingness to attend workshops/training sessions to build skills.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail and good problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance and repair of production machinery under the lead engineer.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and regular inspections to standard.
• Service production machinery and associated equipment.
• Record maintenance procedures in machine logs accurately.
• Provide clear handovers and document issues, causes and solutions.
• Identify potential failures and safety risks and aid in preventative action.
• Use manuals and fault histories to plan maintenance tasks and explain them to managers.
• Carry out corrective actions to restore output, quality and waste targets.
• Support facilities-related tasks and contribute to continuous improvement.
