Job summary

Medstrom Ltd. is seeking a Trainee Decontamination Technician to join our service centre in Thame, near Oxford. You will clean, decontaminate, test and repair hospital beds and mattresses, ensuring they are ready for use and supported by our internal technicians at customer sites.

You will work 37.5 hours weekly, with training provided to perform electrical safety testing and to manage daily prep targets. A full driving licence is advantageous but not essential since the role is site-based.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work on your own initiative and follow procedures to meet deadlines.
  • Basic PC skills including email and MS Office.
  • Electrical safety testing qualification is desirable but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, decontaminating, testing, and repairing products (beds and mattresses) and making them ready for use.
  • Keeping an inventory of products and spare parts.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality processes, both internal and external.
  • Meeting daily product preparation targets.
  • Delivering a timely and appropriate service to in-field technicians.
  • Completing and recording electrical safety testing on products during tasks - training provided.
  • Completing tasks within the laundry (booking in, drying and inspection).
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the workplace.
  • Completing daily/weekly activity reports.
  • Updating relevant IT systems.

Job description

As a Trainee Decontamination Technician, you will clean, maintain, and support the delivery of our products to customers throughout Oxfordshire, based within our service centre in Thame.

Whilst adhering to established quality processes, you'll clean and test products, ensuring they are ready for use, and providing a high level of service to our internal technicians who will install products at customer sites.

Specifically, you will be:
  • Cleaning, decontaminating, testing, and repairing products (beds and mattresses) and making them ready for use
  • Keeping an inventory of products and spare parts
  • Ensuring compliance with quality processes, both internal and external
  • Meeting daily product preparation targets
  • Delivering a timely and appropriate service to in-field technicians
  • Completing and recording electrical safety testing on products during tasks - you will be fully trained
  • Completing tasks within the laundry (booking in, drying and inspection)
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the workplace
  • Completing daily/weekly activity reports
  • Updating relevant IT systems

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9.30am - 6pm

Basic knowledge of hygiene and safety rules would be an advantage, but is not essential

  • Basic PC skills to include email and MS Office
  • A full driving licence would be an advantage to support the wider team, but it is not essential as this role is site-based
  • Electrical safety testing qualification or certificate would be equally desirable, but is not essential, as full training will be provided
