Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting Trainee Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across York, with opportunities for flexible, short-term and long-term placements.

You'll lead pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour, take registers and engage students in the absence of the class teacher. A degree is preferred, and training is provided to support your entry into education.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree (preferred) or equivalent qualifications
• Have experience working with young people (such as coaching, tutoring, youth work or childcare)
• Are confident, reliable and keen to work in education
• Have (or are willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS and have the Right to Work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-planned lessons and manage classroom behaviour
• Take registers and keep students engaged while the teacher is absent
• Support students to achieve learning goals and maintain a positive learning environment
