Job summary

Kibble is seeking a Child and Youth Care Worker to support young people in residential and community-based services during night shifts. You will ensure safety, respond to crises, and coordinate with a cross-functional team to achieve individual care plans.

The role requires client‑facing care, strong communication, and the ability to work unsupervised. A driving licence is essential for this post, and PVG clearance will be required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or vulnerable individuals is essential.
• Residency in social care or residential childcare is desirable.
• Willingness to work across multiple services within the Kibble Group.
• Registration with SSSC or eligibility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read relevant reports and records to identify care needs.
• Identify medical, social, religious or dietary requirements for each young person.
• Ensure next of kin are informed of location, contacts and visiting times.
• Direct responsibility for the care and development of a number of children and young people.
• Liaise with multi-disciplinary team to monitor targets and progress.
• Coordinate with area team social worker to align school targets with tasks.
• Engage with families to ensure cooperation and arrange home leave; driver's licence is essential.
• Record placement plans in the required format and ensure timely reporting.
• Submit reports to the Children's Panel or relevant authorities within deadlines.
