Job summary

Sodexo Ltd in Aldershot is seeking a motivated Trainee Chef/Apprentice to start a career in the kitchen. You will learn alongside experienced chefs, assist with preparation and cooking, and gain hands-on experience while working toward a recognised professional chef qualification.

No prior kitchen experience is required, and you will join a team that supports your development with hands-on training and realistic progression in a busy kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional cooking or catering role is essential.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
• Able to work independently, manage your time and prioritise tasks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, self-motivated and confident working alone.
• Positive and flexible, with the ability to work well with others and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Learn and develop essential cooking skills and techniques alongside experienced chefs.
• Assist with food preparation, cooking and presenting delicious, high-quality meals.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver excellent food and service.
• Gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised professional chef qualification.
