Job summary

Stagecoach Northampton is offering an apprenticeship programme to become a PCV licensed bus driver. No prior experience required; you will earn while you learn with fully paid training and a Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship.

Based at our Northampton depot, you'll complete 12-14 weeks of training at £12.71 per hour, then progress to £14.02 when solo and £16.45 after one year as a fully qualified driver, with shifts 4 or 5 days in 7.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and hold a driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Right to work in the UK and resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
• Able to complete paid training and the Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Complete industry-leading training and obtain PCV licence.
• Drive our bus fleet safely and courteously.
• Deliver excellent customer service and help passengers feel safe.

Based at our Northampton depot, located just outside Northampton Town Centre

Pay rate during training of £12.71 per hour (training will last 12-14 weeks)

Pay rate increasing to £14.02 once you are working alone and then increasing again on your 1 year anniversary £16.45 per hour as a Qualified Bus Driver

Shift patterns mixed of any 4 or 5 days in 7

At our Northampton depot, we operate a fleet of over 100 buses covering the areas of Northamptonshire, including Daventry & Wellingborough, with a team of almost 300 Drivers.

What do you need to apply?

• You need to be 18 years old and hold a driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
• Right to work in the UK (You will need to have been in the UK for a minimum of 183 days as part of DVLA requirement) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands or the British overseas territories for the last 3 years OR meet alternative criteria due to funding criteria (can be discussed via application)
