Job summary

Stagecoach Barnstaple Depot is offering a full-time Bus Driver Apprenticeship. Earn while you learn with fully paid training to gain your PCV licence and Level 2 Apprenticeship qualification.

During training you earn £15.14 per hour; after qualification you’ll be paid £16.49 per hour, with an annual earnings potential of around £33,442 based on a 39-hour week and overtime availability.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+, driving licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Right to work in the UK; 183 days in UK for DVLA requirements.
• Willingness to learn and be part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Complete industry-leading training and gain a PCV licence with CPC training.
• Drive our fleet safely and confidently for customers.

Job description

Salary and Working Hours

Pay £16.49 an hour (after training). Pay rate during training £15.14 per hour. Annual earnings of £33,441.72 based on 39 hours per week. Shift patterns of 4 or 5 days over 7 days. Job type full‑time. Overtime available. Weekend availability is required. Day shift is expected.

Training and Apprenticeship

We will pay you during training and pay you £16.49 per hour after training.

What will you be doing?

• Completing our industry leading training, securing your PCV licence followed by ongoing CPC training and professional development which form part of gaining your Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship
• Driving our fantastic fleet safely, smoothly with confidence
• Making sure every single customer has a great journey
• Delivering top-notch customer service, helping people of all ages and backgrounds
• Creating a welcoming environment where customers feel respected, cared for, and looked after, especially those who rely on us most
• Working flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

What do you need to apply?

• You need to be 18 years old and hold a driving licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 penalty points
• Right to work in the UK (you will need to have been in the UK for a minimum of 183 days as part of DVLA requirement)
• A patient, safe and courteous approach to driving
• Being the face of Stagecoach, a positive, friendly attitude and a passion for delivering great customer service

Our Barnstaple depot, we operate a fleet of 54 buses covering the areas of North Devon, North Cornwall and Mid Devon with a team of 150 Drivers.
