Job summary

Arriva is hiring a Trainee Bus Driver at our Darlington depot to connect communities every day. You’ll receive full paid training to gain your PCV licence at the Arriva Training School, followed by mentoring as you gain experience on the road.

Expect early starts from 04:00, rotations across mornings, afternoons and evenings, and ongoing CPC training. Competitive hourly pay (£13.70–£16.30) with benefits including an onsite gym, generous leave, and staff travel perks.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and have good communication skills.
• Willingness to undergo drug/alcohol test and English comprehension test.
• Able to work rotating shifts including early mornings and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Drive buses on assigned routes with a focus on passenger safety and service.
• Provide friendly, helpful customer service to passengers.
• Adhere to schedules and safety regulations while operating a PCV.
