Job summary

Stagecoach Group Limited is recruiting for a Bus Driver Apprentice at our Queens Road Garage in Manchester. You’ll train toward a PCV licence through our Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship, earning while you learn with paid training and a clear progression path.

Starting wage during training is £13.37 per hour, rising to £19.06 per hour after qualification, with annual earnings around £35,000 once fully trained; shifts are 5 days over 7.

Qualifications

• Must have UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Be 18 years or older and have right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to learn and be part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Complete training to obtain PCV licence as part of Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship.
• Drive our fleet safely and confidently.
• Ensure every customer has a great journey.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Create a welcoming environment where customers feel respected and looked after.
• Work flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Salary

£15.63 p/h after training (£17.70 Saturday hourly rate, £17.70 Sunday hourly Rate)

• Pay rate during training of £13.37 per hour (training will last 6 – 8 weeks)
• Annual earnings of £35000 following completion of training based on 38 hours per week as a qualified Bus Driver

What do you need to apply?

• You need to be 18 years old and hold a driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
• Right to work in the UK (You will need to have been in the UK for a minimum of 183 days as part of DVLA requirement)
• A patient, safe and courteous approach to driving
• Being the face of Stagecoach, a positive, friendly attitude and a passion for delivering great customer service
• A willingness to learn and be part of a brilliant team
