Job summary

Stagecoach Group Limited is offering an apprenticeship to become a PCV licensed Bus Driver at the Slatyford Depot, Newcastle upon Tyne. Training is fully paid and includes the Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship, with a structured programme to gain your PCV licence and CPC qualifications.

You will earn while you learn, with pay during training and progression into a full-time driver role offering salary progression after training and throughout the first year.

Salary

£13.51 rising to £14.01 following completion of training and £16.20 after one year

• Based at our Slatyford depot, located at Slatyford Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE5 2SE
• Pay rate during training of £13.51 per hour (training will last 6 – 8 weeks)
• Annual earnings of £26,974 following completion of training, rising to £31,168 after 1 year of service based on 37 hours per week as a qualified Bus Driver. Overtime opportunities available to boost earnings
• Shift patterns of Early, Middle and Late shifts, any 5 days out of 7

• Completing our industry leading training, securing your PCV licence followed by ongoing CPC training and professional development which form part of gaining your Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship

What do you need to apply?

• You need to be 18 years old and hold a driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points

• Right to work in the UK (You will need to have been in the UK for a minimum of 183 days as part of DVLA requirement) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK and Islands or the British overseas territories for the last 3 years OR meet alternative criteria due to funding criteria (can be discussed via application)

• A patient, safe and courteous approach
