Job summary

Arriva UK Bus Ltd. is offering trainee bus driver roles at our Bangor depot. You’ll start with comprehensive CPC training through the Arriva Training School and progress with paid development as you gain experience behind the wheel.

Qualifications

Don’t worry if you’ve never driven a bus before – we’ll be with you every step of the way to get you started. With the help of our experienced team and Arriva Training School, you’ll have all the tools you need for full CPC training, so you’ll be behind the wheel in no time.

We do the right thing at Arriva – earning an hourly rate of £13.45 for trainees for 12 months, rising to £15.80 after 12 months.

Pay Rates

• Trainee Drivers: £13.45 per hour (first 3 weeks)

Post-Training Pay Rates (Trainees)

• Monday to Saturday: £13.45/hr (rising to £15.80 after 12 months)
• Sunday: £18.70 (rising to £22.00 after 12 months)
• Bank Holidays: £19.13/hr (rising to £22.50 after 12 months)

Shift Patterns

• 5 out of 7 rotating shift patterns, planned up to 6‑8 weeks in advance.
• Mornings starting from 04:00, afternoons from 12:00 and evenings from 18:00 on a rotational basis.
• No fixed early, afternoon or evening shifts offered separately.
• Overtime available at request / availability.

Requirements

• Be over 18 years old with at least 12 months of driving experience.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Great customer service and communication skills.
