Job summary

GVR Solutions Ltd is seeking a Trainee / Assistant Estimator to join a well-established fit-out and refurbishment contractor in Essex. The role suits recent graduates or those with 1-2 years in estimating, offering a pathway to develop skills in tender collation, measurement of drawings using CAD and traditional methods, and building market-rate knowledge for materials.

• Have previous construction experience or have completed construction-based education.
• Keen to develop skills (training will be offered if required).
• Self-motivated and driven to succeed.
• Possess good time management skills and be comfortable working to deadlines.
• Work well within a team, but also be happy working individually.
• Comfortable using all Microsoft applications and have robust IT literacy.
• Keen to learn how to be a great communicator.
• Have experience with estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Collation & review of tender documents to gain a solid project understanding.

• Working amongst the wider team to obtain job specific market rates for materials.
• Liaison with business partners and subcontractors to obtain site specific quotations.
• Establishing new and building existing relationships with clients / contractors / suppliers.
• Coordinate site visits with team members to understand project logistics / constraints.
• Creation & preparation of bills of quantities / schedules of rates for submission to clients.
• Presentation of tenders for adjudication with senior management team.
• Attending meetings with clients to discuss projects / tenders & negotiate contract sums.

Trainee / Assistant Estimator Required in Essex

GVR Solutions are currently working alongside a well-established fit-out and refurbishment contractor who are looking for a Trainee / Assistant Estimator to join their growing team.

This opportunity will suit someone who has either recently graduated, or someone who has 1-2 years of relevant experience and is looking to pursue their career in Estimating.
