Job Description:

Junior / Assistant Estimator required to join an industry leading construction specialist in Buckinghamshire. The company works on architectural glass projects across the UK and, due to continued growth, seeks an Estimator to join their team.

• Salary: £20,000 - £28,000 (dependent on experience)
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm
• Benefits include 25 days holiday, private medical cover, pension contribution, and access to an employee assistance programme with wellbeing benefits

Responsibilities:

• Take off quantities where necessary from drawings
• Receive inquiries assigned by Senior Estimators or Divisional Director
• Send out inquiries for materials and sub-contract items
• Prepare bills of quantities when available
• Evaluate prices for materials and sub-contractors
• Build up prices using estimating systems or Excel spreadsheets
• Liaise with sales to ensure timely tender presentations
• Attend sales meetings and follow up on priced projects to secure orders or assess lost jobs
• Calculate preliminary costs using Excel spreadsheets
• Present prices for adjudication and finalize submissions
• Prepare monthly prospects schedule for the Divisional Director
• Maintain and update estimating registers regularly

Requirements:

• Proficient communication skills with keen attention to detail
• IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
• Estimating experience in a related field
• Must be within commuting distance to High Wycombe
