Job Introduction

Here at Lucion, we are currently recruiting for Trainee Asbestos Surveyors/Analysts to join our South Hazardous Materials team. This is a field-based role role where your nearest local office is likely to be our Gatwick facility. We are looking to offer the successful candidate a starting salary of £25,396.80 rising to £26,000 once qualified.

More About The Role

This is an opportunity to learn a new skill set for a long-term career. You will be supported by a senior mentor and a full technical team; youll learn on the job and via specialist training modules. At the end of your training, you will have the opportunity to obtain professional qualifications and authorisation to work as a qualified Asbestos Analyst/Surveyor.

This role will suit someone who enjoys working in changing environments - both indoors and outdoors. Youll be visiting varying sites and conditions, working with a great team.

The Tasks Of a Trainee Asbestos Surveyor/Analyst Consist Of

• Investigation of building fabric works as part of a survey team
• Willingness to work as part of a team in changing environmental situations. This could include working outside undertaking soil investigation work, to working in a Grade II listed building or surveying a tanker in the Atlantic ocean
• Undergoing in-house training towards professional RSPH Level 3 Award in Air Monitoring and Clearance Procedures and RSPH Level 3 Award in Asbestos Surveying courses
• Learning to log technical data into Lucion's in-house built mobile app, NexGen
• Adherence to accreditation requirements and aspects which underpin our Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental systems.
• Self motivated learning in conjunction with support from your mentor

• Positive attitude towards learning new technical proficiencies
• Practical hands-on skills with good attention to detail
• Using your own initiative if working alone
• Flexible and adaptable approach (including out-of-hours working)
• Well organised and works well under pressure

When You Qualify As An Asbestos Surveyor/Analyst

• Overtime rates paid at time and a half and time and three quarters
• Paid travel contributing to your core 40 hour week, allowing you to achieve the enhanced hourly rate, valued between £3,000 - £4,000 on average
• Working away allowances for both short-term and long-term working away
