Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is recruiting for a Trainee Animal Technician in Potters Bar. This hands-on role supports animal welfare and husbandry, with cleaning and sterilisation tasks in a regulated scientific setting.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures.
  • Good communication skills and team orientation.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake training.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, sanitise and maintain animal caging and related equipment.
  • Load and unload autoclaves and sterilisation equipment.
  • Prepare and distribute supplies within the facility.
  • Carry out routine cleaning duties across designated areas.
  • Support animal husbandry, breeding and colony maintenance activities under supervision.
  • Assist with cage changing and animal care tasks.
  • Rebuild, sterilise and maintain isolators.
  • Dispose of waste safely and in accordance with procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs and inventory documentation.
  • Support stock control and supply management.
  • Carry out routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
