Job summary

Northumbria Group seeks a Trainee Advanced Surgical Practitioner to assist Consultants and Specialist Registrars in Orthopaedic, Elective and Trauma cases, with responsibilities across Trust sites including Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital and North Tyneside General Hospital. Base site is North Tyneside General Hospital.

The role operates under Agenda for Change Annex 20 and offers development into higher pay bands upon competency completion, subject to set criteria.

Qualifications

Evidence of ongoing practice development
Mentorship Qualification or relevant equivalent qualification (essential requirement for post, expectation this will be completed within an 18 month period)
Recognised teaching qualification
Recognised post graduate theatre/anaesthetic qualification
Diploma/degree in nursing/or health related topic

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care under the direction of the senior nurse/SODP.
Assist in the provision of nursing care and maintain high clinical standards.
Exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
Develop over time and contribute to the management of a clinical area and take charge in the absence of Senior Nurse/ODP.
Role model compassionate and inclusive leadership to shape a collective leadership culture within the trust.
