Rother District Council is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join the Financial Services accountancy team. The role focuses on treasury management, statutory financial statements, and budget control, with opportunities to study for professional qualifications.

The position is full-time (37 hours per week) with flexible and hybrid working, excellent communication skills required, and a strong emphasis on development and Excel proficiency.

Formación

• Proficiency in Excel is essential and desirable.
• Opportunity to study for a formal accountancy qualification (e.g. AAT, CiPFA or ACCA).

Responsabilidades

• Provide the daily Treasury Management function, including maintaining cashflow spreadsheets and informing decisions on investments and borrowing.
• Assist with the production of the council’s Financial Statements.
• Assist Senior Accountants with revenue and capital budgets, monitor spending and income, and assist in final accounts preparation.
• Perform reconciliations across various records and systems.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable and systems administration with Finance Systems team.
