Job summary

DJH is recruiting a Trainee Accountant (Apprentice) in Derby as part of its Early Careers program. You will receive a comprehensive induction, a personal development plan, and support to achieve your AAT qualifications while contributing to client work.

You’ll be part of a busy, collaborative team that values learning, development, and delivering excellent service. The role offers a structured training path, flexible hybrid working, and a strong emphasis on growth.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 GCSEs at minimum level 5 and above, with Maths and English level 6+
• On track to achieve 3 A Levels (or equivalent) Grade C or above
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Proactive and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Being part of a talented team, adding value to the exceptional work we deliver
• Preparing year-end financial statements for a wide range of clients
• Calculating corporation and personal tax liabilities, with tax planning ideas
• Shadowing, questioning, and learning to support your AAT studies
• Building long-lasting relationships with clients and wow-ing them daily

Education

GCSEs and A Levels readiness

Maths and English at level 6+
