Job summary

DJH is seeking a Trainee Accountant as part of its Early Careers apprenticeship. Based in Chester (Ellesmere Port), the role begins with a thorough induction and a personalised development plan to guide you toward becoming a qualified accountant.

You’ll work with a talented team, prepare year-end statements, handle tax calculations, and actively pursue AAT studies. The position offers a fully funded training package and a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs at a minimum level 5, with a level 6+ in Maths and English.
• On track to achieve 3 A Levels (or equivalent) Grade C or above.
• Strong relationship-building and learning mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end financial statements for a wide range of clients.
• Calculate corporation and personal tax liabilities and propose planning ideas.
• Shadow and pursue your AAT studies as part of personal development.
• Build long-lasting relationships with clients and support their needs.
