About us:

Here at c2c, we pride ourselves on being an award-winning train operator running services between Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness, serving 26 stations in East London and South Essex. Our customers never stand still, and neither do we. We anticipate, innovate, and adapt to our customer’s needs, and it takes a great team to do this.

Purpose of the Role:

To ensure business continuity and improvement within the Engineering Department through the provision of Commercial expertise in areas such as:

  • Contract management for Train Service Agreements
  • Management of train leases with ROSCOs
  • Management of depot leases with Network Rail
  • Creation, management, and renewal of engineering contracts to deliver value for money and reduce waste
  • Developing the departmental base budget annually in line with ABP processes
  • Ensuring compliance with the c2c Environmental Management System within engineering functions

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • A Business Management Degree is preferred; relevant experience may suffice for lower qualifications
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements, industry standards, and codes of practice
  • Strong management, communication, and contract management skills
  • Ability to produce clear, understandable documentation
  • Experience in risk assessment, prioritization, and project management
  • Proven ability in cost estimation, budgeting, and specifications
  • Experience in surveying, inspection, and auditing electrical and mechanical installations

Safety Training/Certification:

  • Fire Safety (Primary Module) or equivalent
  • Fire Precautions Manager Training
  • NEBOSH Safety Management
  • Personal Track Safety (including AC & DC electrified lines)
  • Quality and Environmental Systems
  • Full copy of the Rule Book and Incident Management training
  • UK Driving License

Additional training will be provided as needed, depending on future duties.
