Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is hiring a Train Cleaner Team Leader to supervise a team of cleaners and ensure thorough cleaning of trains. You will oversee interiors and exteriors, manage supplies, train new staff, and enforce safety protocols to deliver high-standard service for passengers.

The role requires supervisory experience, knowledge of cleaning products and equipment, and strong leadership. Night shifts 18:00–05:30, with a focus on safety and quality in a facilities management environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of train cleaners; schedule tasks and provide guidance to maintain high standards.
• Oversee cleaning of train interiors and exteriors to meet standards and regulations.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report shortages or issues.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety; take corrective actions.
• Train new team members on procedures, safety, and equipment; provide ongoing coaching.
• Ensure safety guidelines and PPE usage are followed to prevent accidents.
• Maintain records of cleaning activities, supplies usage and incidents; report to Facilities Manager.
• Collaborate with other departments to address passenger cleanliness concerns.

As a Train Cleaner Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of cleaners and ensuring the efficient and thorough cleaning of our trains.

About The Role

You will play a key role in maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of our trains to the highest standards while adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of train cleaners, including scheduling, task assignment, and providing guidance and support to ensure a high standard of work.
• Cleaning Supervision: Oversee the cleaning of train interiors and exteriors, including seats, floors, windows, restrooms, and common areas, to ensure they meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, and report any shortages or equipment issues to the Facilities Manager for timely resolution.
• Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are met, and take corrective actions as necessary.
• Training and Development: Train new team members on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation, and provide ongoing coaching to enhance their skills and performance.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure that the team follows all safety guidelines and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, supplies usage, and any incidents or issues. Prepare and submit reports to the Facilities Manager as required.
• Customer Service: Collaborate with other departments to address customer complaints related to cleanliness and ensure a positive passenger experience.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
