Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is hiring a Train Cleaner to maintain cleanliness and hygiene on trains, ensuring a safe and pleasant passenger environment. This role contributes to overall maintenance and appearance of the fleet and customer experience.

The ideal candidate will have right to work in the UK, willingness to work night and weekend shifts, and strong communication skills. Prior cleaning experience is advantageous and training will be provided.

About The Role

Days of Working: you will be working 4 nights on on 4 nights off 21:00 to 06:00

As Train Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards of trains, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for passengers and staff. This role plays a crucial part in the overall maintenance and appearance of trains, contributing to a positive customer experience.

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain a tidy environment inside the train
• Inspect and report any damages, graffiti, or vandalism to the appropriate authorities for prompt resolution.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed, ensuring that all necessary materials are on hand to perform daily tasks.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
• Follow procedures for handling and disposing of cleaning chemicals and materials.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• You must have Right to Work in the UK
• Previous experience in cleaning would be advantageous.
• You will have strong communication skills.
• Willingness to work night and weekend shifts.

Additional information:

• You will need to pass a medical and drug and alcohol test prior to starting in this role.
• You will also be required to complete a Local Track Safety Awareness (LTSA) training course.
