Job summary

KL Talent Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a leading logistics and distribution business for an experienced Traffic Operator to join their transport team. As a Traffic Operator, you'll support the day‑to‑day running of the regional transport operation, ensuring vehicles, drivers and depot activities are

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy transport or logistics operation.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure.
• Strong IT skills with transport management systems.
• Understanding of transport legislation and compliance.
• Experience producing reports and analysing operational data.
• CPC in Transport Management is advantageous.
• ILM Level 3 or CMI qualification advantageous.
• Experience in liquid fuel distribution desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support daily planning and coordination of transport operations.
• Manage driver briefings and debriefings.
• Act as main point of contact for regional drivers and central support teams.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and fleet compliance.
• Manage vehicle defects and arrange repairs per legal requirements.
• Handle transport office enquiries, including breakdowns and driver support.
• Assist with transport planning and scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation and Health & Safety standards.
• Produce operational reports and support continuous improvement.
• Provide support as part of an on-call rota when required.
