Job summary

DH Recruitment is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to join the Crawley operations team. You will manage a 30+ vehicle fleet, ensure CPC compliance and oversee route planning, driver welfare, and resource allocation.

You will monitor KPIs, costs, and performance while driving continuous improvement and maintaining Health & Safety standards. A strong leadership, communication, and fleet-management background is essential.

Qualifications

• CPC in Road Transport is required.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• 3–5 years transport management experience.
• Experience with route planning and fleet software.
• Knowledge of health and safety and compliance.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to join our client's Operations team in Crawley. Reporting to the Head of Logistics, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant management of a fleet of 30+ vehicles, ensuring operational performance and regulatory standards are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of a 30+ vehicle fleet.
• Ensure full Operator Licence and transport compliance.
• Oversee route planning, driver welfare and resource allocation.
• Monitor KPIs, operational performance and transport costs.
• Manage PCNs, fines, tolls and supplier invoices.
• Conduct compliance audits and prepare management reports.
• Ensure drivers maintain CPC and other required training.
• Drive continuous improvement across transport operations.

About You

• Transport Manager with 3-5 years' experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and fleet compliance.
• Experienced in logistics planning and fleet management systems.
• Confident leader with excellent communication skills.
• Commercially aware, organised and solutions-focused.

Essential Requirements

• IOSH qualification
• Experience with Descartes or similar routing software
