Job description

We are seeking a Traffic Operator to join our busy depot in Leeds (LS9 0SG).

Role Overview: As a Traffic Operator, you will ensure compliance and control of the Fleet, managing duties within the traffic office environment across all contracts.

Position Details: This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary of £30,080.42 plus a £800 late shift allowance (dependent on experience). The schedule is mainly Monday to Friday, 12:00 to 20:30, with occasional shifts and overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate customer deliveries and liaise with drivers efficiently, fulfilling customer requests
• Escalate issues with meeting expectations to the line manager and customer as appropriate
• Establish and maintain good customer relationships, acting as the primary contact for order requests
• Maintain professional communication at all times
• Identify and recommend solutions to customer queries or failures
• Immediately communicate concerns or variances to your line manager for prompt action
• Adhere to health and safety procedures, including PPE, and escalate concerns promptly

Minimum Requirements:

• Enthusiastic attitude with a desire to learn
• Good general education, including numeracy and literacy
• Understanding of warehouse and transport procedures, including WTR and EU Driver regulations
• Preferably experience with Telematic systems
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Flexibility to work different shifts as needed
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize
• Proficiency in IT tools such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
• Team player with initiative and ideas for efficiency improvements
