Job summary

Maritime Transport Ltd. is seeking a Traffic Operator for the Alconbury depot. This role involves managing driver schedules, coordinating with ports, and booking delivery slots to ensure smooth port entries.

The ideal candidate will have proven Traffic Operator experience, strong communication skills, and excellent knowledge of UK geography. Flexibility to meet business demands is required.

Responsibilities

• Deal with multiple drivers and coordinate schedules.
• Communicate with ports to manage arrivals and departures.
• Book delivery slots for port entries.
• Use TOPS to log driver start/finish times.
• Chase drivers for ETAs and ensure punctuality.
• Reroute jobs as needed to maintain service levels.
• Verify PODs match each job in the system.
• Inform customers about delays and potential disruptions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Dealing with multiple drivers
• Communicating with ports
• Booking delivery slots for entry in ports
• Using a Transport system called TOPS for putting down drivers start times and finish times
• Chasing drivers for etas and making sure they are on time
• Rerouting jobs as and when is needed
• Checking all PODS are matched up with all the correct jobs on the system
• Speaking to customers on possible delays advising et
