Job summary

Qualifications

• CPCS Traffic Marshall ticket and CSCS Labourer Card required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant site traffic marshal experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Direct and control the movement of vehicles entering and exiting the site.
• Ensure that vehicles and pedestrians follow site safety rules and regulations.
• Implement traffic management plans to minimize disruption and maximize safety.
• Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Implement and enforce safety measures to protect site workers, visitors, and the public.
• Use appropriate signage, barriers, and other tools to manage traffic flow safely.
• Communicate clearly with drivers, site personnel, and pedestrians using hand signals, radios, or other communication devices.
• Provide instructions and guidance to ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
• Act as a point of contact for any traffic‑related queries or concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of traffic movements, incidents, and safety checks.
• Ensure all relevant documentation is completed and filed as required.
• Report any incidents, near‑misses, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Based in Abingdon the remuneration for this role is £15.72 per hour, you will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
