Job summary

Sapphire Utility Solutions, part of the Lanes Group, is seeking a Traffic Management Operative to support planned and reactive schemes in the North West, based from Preston or Manchester with depot work in Leyland. The role requires standby shifts, nights and weekends, and a 50-hour week.

You will manage traffic control methods, read CAD drawings, and input data on a tablet, with 12d and related accreditations. A full UK licence (≤6 points) is essential.

Qualifications

• Lantra 12d accreditation is required.
• TTMBC and Lantra 12a/b accreditation are required.
• Full UK driving licence with up to 6 points.
• Ability to read CAD drawings and use a tablet.

Responsibilities

• Oversee methods of traffic management on schemes.

• Ensure activities follow laid down procedures and safety.
• Perform daily vehicle checks for safety and cleanliness.
• Assist the public and direct traffic safely when needed.

Job description

As a Traffic Management Operative, you will be required to work on our planned Traffic Management Schemes helping them to run smoothly and efficiently to achieve maximum production in a working day, whilst maintaining a high Health and Safety standard. The works are a mixture of reactive and planned works.

• You will oversee all methods of traffic management; Give and take, Priority, Stop/Go boards, Portable traffic signals, Convoy working, Road closures, Lane closures and diversions.
• You will carry out risk assessments and method statements on works involving traffic management.
• You will ensure that all activities associated with the job are carried out according to laid down procedures where possible.
• You will ensure that daily vehicle checks are carried out to ensure cleanliness and tidiness of vehicle and the safety of the driver and passenger.
• You will demonstrate initiative by constantly looking to see where improvements can be made.
• You will be happy to assist the public, directing them through safe site lines when required. Lantra 12d accreditation, TTMBC, 12d (M1, M2, M5, M6) Lantra 12 a/b accreditation.
• Full valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
• Be able to read and understand CAD drawings, in relation to the works required preferably to have mechanical ability in relation to Traffic Lights.
• Be IT literate as usage of a tablet will be needed to input data

We are seeking Operatives who are North West based so you could be located in Preston or Manchester however you must be able to travel to the depot in Leyland. You will also be required to go on a standby rota and be flexible to the business needs in working nights and weekends. This is a full time, permanent position within a growing, and busy department.

Location: North West based - depot in Leyland Hours: 50 hours per week Salary: £35,000 per annum basic with OTE earnings of up to £50,000 based on overtime.,
