Job summary

Sapphire Utility Solutions, part of the Lanes Group, is seeking an Assistant Depot Manager to coordinate the Traffic Management Operatives and ensure safe, timely delivery of works. You will allocate operatives, liaise with planning teams and client representatives, manage depot vehicles and equipment, and operate within SLA/KPI targets.

The role is predominantly office-based with a company van for site work, based in Grazeley (Reading) and Kidlington, with a 40-hour week (Mon-Fri, 08:00-16:30)

Qualifications

• Excellent IT skills with the ability to use all Microsoft packages.
• Previous traffic management experience and experience of liaising and leading a team.
• Ability to schedule work to ensure maximum productivity and asset usage.
• A full driving licence is required.
• Knowledge of health and safety is essential and IT literacy is a must.

Responsibilities

• Allocating operatives to correct jobs and ensuring rostered coverage.
• Liaising with Sapphire Planning Team and client representatives.
• Overseeing on/off hire sheets and depot vehicle/plant servicing.
• Managing standby rota and ensuring safety procedures (TBT, depot H&S).
• Ensuring vehicles and equipment are calibrated and serviced.

About The Role

The Assistant Depot Manager is responsible for the planning and organisation of the Traffic Management Operatives response team activities, ensuring your team have the correct equipment and information to complete all works safely and efficiently and ensuring that work is completed within the required timescale. Working within the agreed SLA/KPI targets set by our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has previously held a supervisory position and is looking to progress into a management role. This is predominantly an office based role however a company van is provided to enable you to work on various sites as and when required.

Location: Grazeley, Reading, Berkshire and Kidlington, Oxfordshire.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08.00am-16.30pm)

Salary: £40,000 per annum

You will also be required to go on a standby rota and be flexible to the business needs in working nights and weekends. This is a full time position within a growing, and busy department.

Responsibilities - But Not Limited To

• Ensuring that Operatives are allocated to correct jobs
• Liaising with Sapphire Planning Team
• Liaising with Client representatives
• Ensuring On and Of Hire sheets are populated correctly
• You will have responsibility for company vehicles and plant within the Depot, making sure they are calibrated and serviced correctly with the support of their transport division.
• You will be required to be on the standby rota
• Depot H&S
• Ensuring TBT are carried out

Experience And Qualifications Required For The Role

• You must also have excellent IT skill with the ability to use all Microsoft packages.

• Knowledge of health and safety is essential. You must also be IT literate and hold a full driving licence.
