Job summary

Calderdale Council is seeking experienced highway engineers to join our Strategic Infrastructure Service. You will design and deliver highway safety improvements, sustainable transport schemes and public realm enhancements to benefit Calderdale's residents and visitors.

Based in the Traffic Engineering Team, you will manage feasibility studies, TROs, and provide technical advice, collaborating with internal teams, developers and external partners.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in traffic engineering.
• Strong knowledge of legislation and local authority procedures.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing design solutions and developing highway safety schemes.
• Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
• Work programming, estimating, supervision and progress reporting.
• Provide technical advice to elected Members and the public.
• Collaborate with internal services, developers and external stakeholders.
• Mentor trainees and staff.
• Progressing Traffic Regulation Orders.
