Job summary

BP in the United Kingdom seeks a Trading Operations Tech Leader within Supply, Trading & Shipping (RPTE). You will ensure smooth, compliant operations across front office and cross-regional teams, lead sessions, and drive performance with focus on risk and operational excellence.

You will build capability, train operators, manage incidents, support trading strategy, and collaborate with Tax, Commodity Risk and Credit.

Qualifications

Experience in oil trading operations (cargo and/or barges).
Understanding risk, HSSE and shipping requirements relating to operations.
Proven track record delivering commercial value.
Strong leadership and communication skills including ability to empower a team.
Ability to influence and manage resources to achieve operational goals.

Responsibilities

Build technical and operational capability of operators on your bench.
Deliver day-to-day operations as required by the bench and support bench strategy.
Provide out of hours coverage as required.
Lead weekly technical meetings with key messages for the bench.
Perform root cause analysis and risk management for operations.
Support delivery of trading strategy with technical input to maximise value.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
Ensure adherence to risk reporting and management policies.
