BP plc in London is seeking a Trading Operations Technical Lead to drive the technical and operational performance of the trading operations bench. You will oversee front-office and cross-regional relationships, deliver technical insights, and contribute to safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

The role requires strong trading operations knowledge, leadership, and a proactive mindset to optimise value and manage risk within a hybrid office/remote setup.

Competenze

• Strong understanding of oil trading operations (cargo/barges).
• Proven leadership and communication abilities.
• Experience in risk management, HSSE and shipping requirements.

Mansioni

• Build technical and operational capability on your bench, train new joiners and promote knowledge sharing.
• Support day-to-day operations and contribute to bench strategy.
• Provide out-of-hours coverage as required.
• Lead cross-bench training and upskilling as part of Tech Lead community.
• Own input for bench-related new business activity, including NAIs.
• Collaborate with Tax, Commodity Risk, Credit and other support functions.
• Organize and run weekly technical meetings, delivering key messages.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and risk management where needed.
• Support trading strategy delivery through technical input to maximise value.
• Partner with the Team Leader to embed ‘our beliefs’ within the team.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and projects across operations.
• Lead adherence to risk management reporting and KPIs via the Ops system.
