Job summary

Cardiff Council’s Trade Waste Service is recruiting for a practical, field-based role to visit businesses across the city, perform site assessments, container checks and RFID tagging, and keep service records accurate. You will work with Operations and Sales Officers to support new services, gather information and photos, and report issues.

A full driving licence and comfort with outdoor site work are essential.

Qualifications

• Organised, reliable and confident working independently with a practical approach to problem solving and a strong focus on providing good customer service.
• Comfortable communicating with a wide range of customers and colleagues, including handling difficult situations professionally.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to accurately record information and report issues identified during site visits.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and mobile devices; willingness to learn Council systems used by the service; ability to prioritise workload.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site assessments, container and asset checks, install and replace RFID tags, verify service information, and keep records up to date.
• Visit trade waste customers across the city and support introduction of new services; gather information and photographs as required.
• Identify and report service or safety issues and help improve the overall service to customers.
