Trade Finance Officer

Principal Purpose of the Job:

Perform tasks related to import and export initiation and settlement business, including L/Cs, Clean and Documentary Collections, Bank Guarantees, trade finance business. AML system checking and assessment on trade transactions.

• Handle all aspects of import transactions including: L/C issuance, L/C acceptances, collections such as D/P, D/A, etc.
• Manage all aspects of export transactions including: L/C advising, L/C confirmation, document scanning.
• Provide trade-related finance solutions such as packing loans, factoring, bills discounting, forfaiting, and funded or unfunded risk participation.
• Calculate fees and interests accurately for relevant transactions.
• Liaise with clients regarding documentary import and export letters of credit, following established procedures.
• Check documents for compliance with letters of credit terms and conditions.
• Proficiently check payments with knowledge of SWIFT rules.
• Follow up promptly on irregularities with customers.
• Liaise with clients on L/C transaction matters.
• Assist the Head of Institutional Banking in preparing trade finance statistical reports for management and head office.
• Manage funds positioning.
• Perform internal accounting reconciliations with Credit Administration, Corporate Banking, and Financial Control departments.
• Register transactions as per procedures.
• Conduct CDD and AML checks on trade services and other product lines as per bank policy.
• Maintain AML check evidences for audit purposes and report/supervise suspicious transactions to MLRO per AML policy.

Skills Required:

• Experience in trade finance, preferably with an international bank.
• Knowledge of Trade Compliance, UCP 600, and MT Swift messages.
• Accuracy and adaptability to workflow changes.
• Strong analysis, planning, and organizational skills.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills.
