Job summary

Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby is seeking a Logistics Controller to manage asset compliance and customs processes. You will oversee trade compliance, maintain documentation, and liaise with brokers, hauliers and HMRC to ensure timely clearance of goods.

You will lead audits, advise on classifications and Incoterms, and drive continuous improvement of customs processes while managing governance and risks.

Qualifications

• Recognised Customs qualifications or recent experience in Customs/Trade Compliance.
• Strong knowledge of UK import/export procedures and HMRC legislation.
• Proficiency with customs declaration systems (CDS).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee trade compliance within logistics for the submarines business.
• Ensure adherence to customs regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Maintain records and documents: invoices, packing lists, origin certificates.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, hauliers and government bodies for clearance.
• Monitor shipments and resolve customs queries promptly.
• Support HMRC audits with precise records and evidence of compliance.
• Lead customs authorisations and duty relief schemes.
• Provide guidance on classifications, duty rates, Incoterms and compliance.
