General All-Purpose Plastics (Gap) Ltd is hiring a Sale Counter Assistant/Driver for our Andover trade counter. You will assist customers in person and by phone, manage stock and orders, and ensure safe, timely deliveries using company vehicles. A full UK driving licence and experience in customer-facing roles are required.

The role combines counter duties with local deliveries. You’ll handle POS transactions, order processing, and stock checks while maintaining a tidy, compliant workspace.

Competenze

• Full UK manual driving licence with 0–6 points.
• Experience driving vans/light goods vehicles preferred.
• Experience at a trade counter, retail, warehouse or distribution desirable.
• Strong customer service with clear verbal communication.
• Basic numeracy for cash handling and stock counts.
• Ability to work independently and in small teams during busy periods.
• Physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy items.
• Proficient with basic IT systems, email and stock/POS software.
• Good attention to detail and accurate paperwork.
• Most importantly a can-do attitude and willingness to learn.

Mansioni

• Serve trade and retail customers at the trade counter, including processing sales, providing product advice and checking stock availability.
• Receive and unpack deliveries, label and store stock correctly, and rotate inventory to maintain stock integrity.
• Prepare customer orders and pick lists for collection and delivery.
• Carry out local deliveries and collections using company vehicles; load/unload goods and secure loads.
• Operate POS systems and process cash, card and account transactions.
• Maintain a clean, safe counter and yard area with basic housekeeping.
• Support stocktakes and cycle counts, report discrepancies to management.
• Provide phone and email support for inquiries, order tracking and product queries.
• Adhere to health and safety and vehicle checks before shifts.
