Job summary

General All-Purpose Plastics (Gap) Ltd in Wrexham is recruiting a Trade Counter Assistant and Driver to support daily counter operations and deliveries. You will deliver excellent customer service in-person and by phone, manage stock and orders, and ensure safe transport of goods.

We seek an organised, reliable person with a full UK driving licence, experience in customer-facing retail or warehouse environments, and a can-do attitude eager to learn and grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills for in-person and phone support.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence with minimal points.
• Experience in retail, warehouse, or distribution environments is desirable.
• Proficiency with basic IT, email and stock systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve trade and retail customers at the trade counter, including processing sales and checking stock availability.
• Receive and unpack deliveries, label and store stock, rotate inventory.
• Prepare customer orders for collection and delivery.
• Carry out local deliveries and collections using company vehicles; load and unload goods and secure loads.
• Operate POS systems and process cash, card and account transactions.
• Maintain a clean, safe counter and yard area and assist with housekeeping and waste disposal.
• Support stocktakes and cycle counts, report discrepancies.
• Provide phone and email support for enquiries and order tracking.
