Job summary

SIG Roofing, the UK’s leading roofing merchant with over 100 branches and 40+ years of experience, is hiring a Trade Counter Assistant. You will be the face of SIG, engaging with customers both in person and by phone, taking orders, and providing product knowledge at our busy Trade Counter.

We seek an outgoing, motivated individual with construction industry exposure, strong communication, and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• Some experience in the construction industry, ideally with product and sales knowledge.
• Ability to engage with customers and build relationships.
• Knowledge of warehousing and yard processes, assisting with picking and packing orders.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Dynamic and motivated to contribute in a busy trade counter.

We 're currently looking to recruit a Trade Counter Assistant who will provide first class customer service to all customers ‘over the counter,’ and undertake sales activity as and when required.

What does the role involve?

As Trade Counter Assistant, you will be the face of SIG and will be required to engage with customers both over the phone and face to face. This is the ideal role for an outgoing and personable candidate who has the confidence to take customer orders and provide key product information to customers visiting our busy Trade Counter.

What you’ll bring:

• Some experience in the construction industry, ideally have some product and sales knowledge
• Ability to engage with customers and build relationships
• Knowledge of warehousing and yard processes, as you will be required to assist from time to time, with picking the correct products and packing orders
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• To be dynamic and motivated
