Job summary

Framestore in London is seeking a Tracking / Matchmove Artist to bridge live-action footage and the 3D space, ensuring all digital elements align with the final frame.

You will reconstruct camera moves, set up accurate object and environment geometry, and collaborate with leads and downstream VFX teams to deliver seamless shots in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate camera and object motion files that flawlessly match original background plate photography.
• Build precise 3D geometry for key static objects and environments to recreate the scene layout.
• Position camera and object tracks within the 3D scene, validating spatial accuracy against live-action footage.
• Render wireframe passes over background plates to rigorously verify track accuracy before handoff.
• Partner with Leads, production teams, and downstream VFX departments to ensure CG elements blend seamlessly into every shot.

About the role

As a Tracking / Matchmove Artist, you will bridge the gap between live-action footage and 3D space, ensuring all digital elements sit seamlessly within the final frame. Working at the foundation of our visual effects pipeline, you’ll play a pivotal role in accurately reconstructing camera moves, object paths, and environment geometry to set up downstream departments for success in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment.
