Network Rail in North West England seeks a Technician to maintain and inspect the rail track, carrying out faulting, maintenance and renewal work as part of a dedicated team. You will support the Team Leader to organise the team, ensure safety and efficiency, and keep the track network in good repair.

This is a very hands-on role outdoors, covering the Permanent Way (P-Way) with rails, sleepers and ballast. A driving licence and flexibility for shifts/on-call may be required.

Qualifications

• Check that vehicles, plant, tools and materials under your control are fit for use and are used, stored and disposed of correctly.
• Ensure staff under supervision have the appropriate and valid competencies to carry out work safely.

Responsabilités

• Inspect, fault, maintenance and renewal work as allocated.
• Support Team Leader to organise and motivate the team so that work is undertaken safely, efficiently and to standards.
• Maintain, inspect and repair the track network (P-Way) to keep the railway safe and efficient.
• Work outdoors as part of a close-knit team, with flexibility for on-call/shift work.
