Job summary

Network Rail in Salisbury AMM is seeking a safety‑mocused Technician to join the Track Maintenance team. You’ll support the Team Leader, inspect track assets, diagnose faults, perform maintenance, and carry out renewal work, stepping up to lead when required.

This is a safety critical role with day, night and weekend shifts; a valid driving licence and NVQ 1/2 (or equivalent) are preferred. You’ll work in a busy, contributing team committed to keeping the network safe and reliable.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to plan and implement safe systems of work.
• Strong team player with focus on safety.
• Knowledge of track maintenance techniques including inspection, faulting and renewal.
• NVQ Level 1 or 2 (or equivalent) preferred.
• A valid driving licence and willingness to drive.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe track maintenance work in line with procedures.
• Inspect track assets, diagnose faults and perform maintenance.
• Lead the team when required to ensure delivery.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and records kept.
