Job summary

Jet2.com Limited Hangar at Leeds Bradford Airport is seeking a Tools Store Supervisor to lead the Tool Stores Team and manage day-to-day tool control to support safe aviation operations. You will supervise inspections, coordinate repairs and ensure compliance with engineering standards while collaborating with internal and external partners.

The role demands strong organisation, communication, and a proactive, flexible approach to problem solving to support the operation and safety standards

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Tool Stores function to high aviation safety standards.
• Oversee routine inspections of aircraft tooling and coordinate repairs/calibration.
• Ensure work complies with Jet2.com engineering quality standards.
• Liaise with internal and external departments/suppliers.
• Utilise the team to prioritise requirements by priority.
• Take responsibility for health and safety, welfare, training and HR matters.
• Coach and mentor colleagues.
• Ensure Tooling Storekeepers handle dangerous goods per regulations.
• Action Tooling Change Bulletins and Equipment bulletins appropriately.
• Uphold the Tooling department Mission: ‘Right Tool, Right Time, Right Place’.

What will you do in the role?

Our Tool Stores Supervisor is responsible for managing the Tool Stores Team, including the control of the day-to-day requirements of tool control, and ensuring any operational requirements are prioritised effectively. You will also:

• Supervise the Tool Stores function, ensuring that it operates to high standards at all times with regards to aviation safety.
• Supervise routine inspections of aircraft tooling, conduct minor maintenance, and ensure any faulty tooling is efficiently and cost effectively dispatched for repair and/or calibration.
• Ensure all work carried out is in line with Jet2.com engineering quality standards.
• Liaise with internal and external departments/suppliers.
• Effectively utilise the team to promptly and efficiently action requirements appropriate to the level of priority.
• Take responsibility for any health and safety, welfare, training, and HR related matters.
• Coach and mentor colleagues.
• Ensure that the Tooling Storekeepers oversee the handling, packaging, and storage of dangerous and hazardous goods within legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure relevant Tooling Change Bulletins and Tooling Equipment bulletins are actioned appropriately.
• Uphold the Tooling departments Mission Statement of ‘Right Tool, Right Time, Right Place’.

What are the key skills / experience you’ll already have?

Our Tool Store Supervisor will ideally have proven experience supervising a team or have held a similar position of responsibility in a busy and demanding environment. You will also:

• Knowledge of tooling/stores processes.
• An adaptable and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
